CODIS Disaster Recovery Checklist

Hardware maintenance SHOULD be in place AND current.

OPen VMS operating system should be brought up to v7.3-2

Create a removable, bootable system disk to be kept in a fireproof safe (preferably offsite).

Upgrade to DLT tape drives, replacing any 4mm or 8mm backup systems.

Keep 10 weeks of daily backups.

Keep 24 "rolling" month-end backup tapes (first tape after Phase 1 month-end has completed).

Permanently keep annual backup tape (first tape after Phase 1 month-end has completed).
